about my skills, interests, and experience

  • My projects range from digital projects (e.g. web and app interfaces) to physical products (e.g. laundry units, tractors) to workspaces and environments.

    I have applied various UX and Human Factors methods, such as: heuristic evaluations, prototyping, task analyses, usability testing, focus groups, user interviews, and more. I also have experience facilitating workshops and design sessions.

    My recent projects include contributing as the UX Lead for couchers.org and working as a freelance UX specialist for Centre College, JackBeNimble, and NomadNewsletter. I am currently a Human Factors Engineer for the MITRE Corporation, optimizing systems for a number of government sponsors and academic partners.

    In May 2022 I received my M.S. in Human Factors Psychology from the University of Idaho and acquired my Associate Human Factors Professional (AHFP) Certificate from the Board of Certification in Professional Ergonomics.

  • Over the past 5 years, I have conducted research in the following fields: human factors and UX; psychology; neuroscience; animal behavior; sociology; and anthropology. I served as a Research Assistant for 2 years in the VR lab at Centre College.

    I have applied my skills in various environments, such as the US, Barbados, Cuba, and India.

  • I have successfully presented my research and case over the past 5 years, mastering my skills in successful storytelling and effective communication.

    I have presented at local conferences (i.e. Kentucky RICE Symposium) and national conferences (Midwestern Psychological Association Annual Conference), as well as a number of workshops.

  • I graduated with a B.S. in Psychology (2020). Throughout my academic experience, I conducted semester-long projects, applying various research and statistical methods.

    My work includes analyses of virtual reality (VR) effects on social behavior, implicit racial bias, sleep, and creativity studies.

  • My academic background also includes a minor in Behavioral Neuroscience, focusing on how our brains operate in relation to behavior and cognitive functions.

    I have excelled in my assessments and projects in related courses such as:

    Drugs, Brain and Behavior; Cognitive Psychology; Cognitive Neuroscience; Sensation and Perception; Advanced Behavioral Neuroscience, and Physiological Psychology.

  • I have applied various experimental and statistical methods across my research projects, successfully conducting both quantitative and qualitative methods.

    I am most familiar with programs such as SPSS and JASP for assessing data.
